I belong to a wonderful health and wellness group and shared this picture of my weight loss to help inspire the newbies. The crazy thing for me was I am insecure enough that I seriously doubted whether to share in the first place. But the response was amazing. I changed the way I eat for myself but I've found that nothing we do just affects ourself. Everything we do has ripple effects and that's more amazing than 91 lbs of lost weight. So to explain the above picture...I have lost 91 lbs since I started my journey. In front of me in the one picture is 90 lbs of potatoes. I can't even hold all of those potatoes in my arms but I was carrying that around on my body!

Midnight Rambling
Tonight's midnight rambling. Have you ever had someone from your past so on your mind and you can't shake it? I usually use it as an opportunity to pray for that person. I just figure if they are on my mind God must want me to pray. But sometimes I wish that I didn't think these things and the past could stay in the past. They will likely never know they still come to mind time to time. They will likely never know I pray for their souls. They probably haven't thought of me in ages. But I'll still pray because I feel it's the least I can do.

Dining room or school room
I looked over past posts and posted on my favorite room so far the updated dining room that is now an office or school room. The ever talented husband has completed it. We now have 2 desk areas for school and all those beautiful bookcases. We still after 4 years in this house have a to do list a mile and a half long but I'm looking forward to posting updates on projects we do finish. We are looking to update the kitchen next. Until then here is the before and after of the completed school room.
Low carb weight loss
I gained a whole lot of weight. I can blame all sorts of factors, kids, stress, emotional eating but the fact is I gained so much weight. I got up to 251 lbs. So the Lord brought some great ladies into my life and they've taught me the low carb lifestyle. With Gods grace so far I've managed to stick to it and have lost 60 lbs. I have a way to go yet to get to goal but I'm almost halfway there. It is becoming such a part of my life I'll occasionally add updates and recipes.

Coming Back
Hi! I tried another blog but I've found Carmelite Mommy is true to me. Random thoughts, shared family stuff, it's just more who I am. So that being said I'm going to start posting here again because I really enjoyed looking back through the memories. A lot has happened since I last posted so I will see where I left off and post an update post shortly. God bless!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Every year I make pretty much the same resolutions and every year I fail in those resolutions. I figure I could just say, "Forget it! No more resolutions for me!" But I don't. I try again. This year is no different. Only I added one more in there that should be a little easier for me to accomplish since it's about reading more and I love to read! So what are my resolutions?
1. To get organized, simplify my life, and make my little home my own personal sanctuary.
2. To lose weight.
3. To do more spiritual reading.
I know from experience that I can't dive into one and two as I will fail. I have started with baby steps. I'm tackling bins I have all around the house that I just throw things in to get them out of the way. Each bin will get cleaned out and given a new improved purpose! Like holding preps instead of useless papers.
Step two will be the hardest. I've struggled for years with my weight. I have the added stress of working nights now stacking against me. I tend to eat to stay awake especially since I no longer drink any soda pop save for an occasional Sprite. Other than chocolate I have no caffeine anymore. That coupled with my eating my stress and anxiety away it's just so very difficult to lose this weight. So what am I going to do? Baby steps. I'm going to dance more with the girls. And try very hard to eat small amounts more frequently. Hopefully, if I can lose a few pounds it'll help to keep me on track better than in previous years. We shall see.
Step three will be the easiest. I love to read. I'm currently reading Venerable Fulton Sheen's Calvary and the Mass. I've started End of the Present World by Fr. Charles Arminjon. I have Life of Christ by Venerable Fulton Sheen on standby. Maybe the hardest part will be finishing one book before starting another one! I also have Humane Vitae to read, as well! So this will be my favorite and easiest new years resolution!
